On the 14th July, Coppull and Standish Junior Band were fortunate enough to play at the ‘Brass at the Seaside’ music festival that was hosted by the Lancashire Music Service! It was our biggest concert to date and all of the juniors and the seniors that helped out did a brilliant job. You all did yourselves, your families and the band extremely proud with both your performances and banding etiquette.
We were playing on the band stand next to Lytham Pier and the gorgeous weather made for a brilliant day out. It was a brilliant location for our junior band to engage in such a rewarding event.
We played a range of pieces that we’d been practising since January, ranging from the ‘Rocky’ theme to the traditional brass band march ‘Slaidburn’. The comments we received afterwards were an abundance of positivity and boosted our confidence in performing.
On behalf of the junior band, I’d like to say a huge huge thank you to all of the senior band members that took the time to come and help us out, it really made the difference and as always, we appreciate the help and support so much.
As always, a big thank you has to be said to Sir Alan, as without him the junior band wouldn’t be the way it is today! Thank you for all the hard work you put in to every thing you do for us all.
The event is being held again next year and as a band we’re hoping to attend again and hoping the weather is just as kind as it was last year 🙂
